Routine Safety Inspection

Be sure to give your garage door and opener routine safety inspections.  Be on the lookout for worn springs, worn cables, and loose brackets.

A good reason to have your door serviced every year - spring tension can relax over time, causing your door to become out of balance.  This will make your opener work harder and shortens it's life. 

Safety Tip

Starting in 1993, federal law has required that all garage door openers have to include sensors to prevent against entrapment.  These sensors will prevent the door from closing before it hits anything detected in the sensor's  path.

Your garage door is not a toy!  Never allow children to race under a door while it's opening or closing.

Your Remote Is a Key

Your garage door remote is basically a key.  Don't leave it in your car or anywhere else it can be seen.

Maintenance is often needed on door openers. If it is operated by a chain or drive screw apply silicon lubricant to the full length.
